Ms Helen was a bright spot in my life and I like to think I brought her a bit of joy. Rarely did I go in to visit my parents and then just my mom when Ms Helen wasn’t sitting in the front lobby or when weather permitted, the porch.  Even if she was dozing with her head down i’d call her name and she’d give me a big smile, her eyes twinkling.  Sometimes she’d laugh at my silly songs but mostly she just seemed happy to talk even though the talking was mostly me.  One time I especially remember was her telling me to sit down with her and I did.  My mom wasn’t going anywhere and I could take the time to sit with Ms Helen. Once in a while I’d have a bit of chocolate for her - it made her so happy!
I missed her today when she wasn’t in her usual spot and I will continue to miss her. I loved her.
