

Howard worked in the grocery business his whole career. He was an active member of his churches both in Kinston and in Raleigh. Rather than list his many life accomplishments, Howard would want you to know his true life purpose and passion was to introduce as many people to Jesus Christ as possible.
Howard leaves behind his loving wife, Peggy; a son, Howard Sauls, Jr and wife Julie of Raleigh; a daughter, Carla Sauls Wetherington and husband Dan of Kinston; a step-daughter, Mandi Adams and husband John of Raleigh; a son- in- law, Tony Grady of Deep Run; two sisters, Marie Allen and husband Bill of Raleigh, and Gaynelle Kennedy and husband Lynwood of Kinston; two brothers, Donald Sauls and wife Joyce of Goldsboro, and Joe Ben Sauls of Goldsboro; and his 11 grandchildren: Nicholas, Alec, and Mackenzie Sauls; Wade and Jake Wetherington; Justin, Dylan and Avery Adams; Devin, Tyler and Lynn Marie Grady.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Lynn Coker Sauls; his daughter, Cristy Sauls Grady; brother Edward Sauls; sister Geraldine McDonald; and his parents.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd, NC 27609. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Crossroads Fellowship, 2721 Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604. Interment will follow at 4 pm, on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 4488 Highway 70 W, Kinston, NC 28504.
