Hugh W. Petty

He was born in Shelby, NC on July 21, 1952. He has joined his parents, Thomas Harley Petty and Cynthia Mae Harris Petty, in Heaven. Hugh married the love of his life, Beth Johnson Petty, on Oct 12, 2004. He was survived by his stepmother Louise Petty; his brother Glenn Thomas Petty and his wife Joan; children Jim Petty and his wife Mandy, Sarah Petty Faucette and her husband Justin, Shane Ryals, Ryan Ryals and his wife Meredith, and Amy Ryals Russin and her husband Jason; and his grandchildren, Madison Petty, Justin, Jonathan, Rylee, John, Sarah Grace, Luke, and Taylor.

At the time of his death, Hugh was Director of Credit, East Division at Stock Building Supply. He will be remembered for his love for the Lord and dedication to his family. His good nature and intelligence has impacted the lives of many.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at Brown-Wynn Funeral Home on Millbrook Road. Funeral will be held at Christ Baptist Church at noon on Thursday with burial at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Lattimore, NC.
