Huntley was born in Raleigh, where he lived during his formative years. He later moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL. with his family, then on to Dallas, TX, where he graduated from high school in 2021.
While in North Carolina, he made many family trips to Beaufort and developed a passion for water sports—swimming, skiing, boating and fishing. It was there in the home of his Great Grandmother, Vivian Huntley, that he was baptized in the Christian faith with water from Taylor’s Creek.
In addition to his love for coastal life, Huntley enjoyed hunting and competed in multiple sports — football, soccer, basketball and tennis. With a keen eye and steady hand he also was adept at skeet shooting.
At age 11, Huntley was introduced to Boy Scouts by his father, Greg, and embraced the full spectrum of scouting with much fervor and enthusiasm. He earned multiple merit badges, earned Life Guard certification, and earned his Eagle Scout—like his father.
Huntley was adventuresome and boldly tackled challenges head on. During a trip to Colorado he climbed through snow and ice to summit Mt. Quandary (14,265 feet). On his 18th birthday Huntley joined his father on a sky diving expedition, fulfilling a long time goal.
Beside Huntley’s penchant for physical activities, his spiritual life was enriched at Raleigh’s Millbrook United Methodist Church, Family Church in Palm Beach Gardens and studying Bible courses in high school. Huntley’s faith was especially evident in his friendly, courteous, kind, loving gentle spirit, sensitivity to the needs of others and willingness to help.
