Ida Ruth Turner, 92, was welcomed home by her Lord on New Year’s Day. She is survived by her son Johnny M. Turner Jr. and wife, Ruby of Raleigh; granddaughter Pam Yancey, and the light of her life, her great-grandson, Timothy of Raleigh; sister, Mattie Jo Buettner of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 42 years, Johnny M. Turner, Sr. an infant daughter, Brenda Faye, three brothers and a sister.
Ida Ruth was blessed with a remarkable capacity to love and with a strength and humbleness to forgive. Everywhere she lived she made close and lasting friends. Much loved by her many nieces and nephews, she will be greatly missed.
