Born Irene Stefanko in Pittsburgh in 1946, Irene spent her life working in accounting before retiring as a tax collector for the North Hills School District in 2009.
She is survived by her beloved son, Bill Young of Raleigh, North Carolina; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Lou Stefanko of Zionsville, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Sandy Stefanko of Tipp City, Ohio; her cousin, Bob Groh, of Fallbrook, California; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Steve and Leona Stefanko; her bother, Ed Stefanko; her aunts, Mildred Zaremba and Cecilia Jamieson; her cousin, Dorothy Kasperek; and her best friends, Jane Early, Carol Kobus, and Paula Perfetti.
