Jacqueline Rochelle Pearce, 79, passed away at home on Saturday morning, October 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orie Herman Pearce, Jr. and her parents, Zalph and Jacqueline Rochelle. Jacqui is survived by her two daughters, Susan Pearce Meyer (Jay) and Beth Pearce Wilson (Don), her beloved Life Partner, Mike Carrington, three step-grandchildren, Brock Meyer, Anna Schnell, Donald Wilson, Jr. and her four adorable Yorkies, Patches, Maggie, Jazz and Banjo.

Jacqui was such a generous and caring person. She had a heart for animals, wild and domestic, that was unmatched; from volunteering at the Wake County Animal Shelter and fostering dogs to her daily feeding of the neighborhood deer that she knew by name and showing kindness to Polly the opossum. Jacqui also had a knack for bargain hunting and loved going to the various auctions. If it was a good deal she bought it whether she needed it or not, and then either gave the item to someone in need or gifted it at Christmas to bring joy to others.

Jacqui loved her daughters, Mike and her extended family. She showed love in too many ways to mention. She will be deeply missed, but we are comforted that she is now without pain and in the arms of Jesus.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2019 beginning at 3:00pm followed by the memorial service at 4:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Wake County Animal Shelter or any other animal rescue organization.

I love you too!!!
Until tomorrow...

Dear Mama,

That was the very last text that you sent to me on my cell phone... “I love you too!!! Until tomorrow...”

My heart is breaking that there are no more tomorrow’s with you here on earth with us! I am still completely numb and that this is the day of your Visitation and Funeral. It all feels so final.

I already miss our daily phone calls and your morning emails that you would send no later than 5:00AM. You were such a Morning Person and your precious Banjo would help get you all up with his 4:30AM “Bark Alarm” to let you know that he, Patches, Maggie and Jazz were ready to play and you and Mike need to get ready! I guess it was thoughtful that they didn’t want you two to miss out on all the fun!

You had such a beautiful and giving heart! Everyone that we have spoken to this week has shared such wonderful stories on how special you were to them... I hope you realized just how much you were loved by so many people and animals!

I have read through all your emails, texts, cards and Voice Mails that I saved on my phone. I started saying, “Poor Mama... Poor Mama” and Jay corrected me. Jay said that it is no longer, “Poor Mama” because she is with Jesus now and free from pain. It is now “Poor us” as we go through the motions of our lives without you.

When it’s my time to leave, I know that you and daddy will be the first in line to greet me at Heavens Gate!

I love you Mama!!!
Until tomorrow...

Hats off to the woman who taught me grace, manners and style and made me enjoy it while learning! I loved all the years of going to the auction with you. Our sorting the trash from the treasures; bringing home prizes and laughing over the duds. Who’s going to call me now to say, “hey… I made extra curry chicken, vegetable soup or shrimp and grits… want some?” I’ll never fight Mike over the last deviled egg or helping of roasted asparagus again. I’ll miss going to plays and out to dinner with you. We’ll never sit in Honduras again wondering if we should be drinking the local beer or riding the zip line? (I still stand by my beer choice). In you, I found a friendship like no other and my last promise to you is this…. I will love Mike for the rest of his days…. or mine. You’re gone…. but never, ever forgotten and always in our hearts! Love ya bunches.

From the day I met Jacqui, she gave me significant gifts -- humor, support, friendship and good counsel. She and Mike became my "defacto Raleigh parents," stepping up when I had knee surgery and shoring me up when my father was dying. For a time, they even joyfully hosted my cats, Bonnie and Clyde. The Doctor Doolittle of Marie Drive, with quadruple Yorkies, a herd of deer, an indoor/outdoor rabbit, and at one point, even a possum, Jacqui's connections with people and with nature knew no bounds. And Mike's unconditional support of her efforts always was a given. Today we celebrate a life well-lived and a partnership that touched many lives. Jacqui, RIP, and Mike, take comfort in the circle of love that surrounds you.

I will miss my step grandma very very much! While I am very sad I do have some great memories to cherish forever ❤️ From our Tuesday night dinners when I was in college, many golf cart rides to feed the ducks and turtles, to letting me host Christmas parties and bridal showers at her house-Jacqui had a very generous heart that I love and will miss so much!

I have beautiful memories of Jacqui. I have known her for many years. Such a beautiful Soul. She substituted for me when I was a teacher at East Millbrook. She always had a smile on her face and love in her Heart for me and all those students. I always appreciated her. Beth, Susan, Mike, her brother and all her friends and relative are close to my Heart at this time and in my prayers. I know that peace has welcomed Jacqui. I Pray that each of you will find that special peace that goes beyond all human understanding. The Love you have for this sweet lady will never die. Know that Jacqui was loved, and you are loved. Love gets us through many times when life is sad. You are in my prayers, dear Friends. I send Love, Peace and Joy to all of you. I will always remember her kindness to others. "Weeping may tarry for the night, but Joy comes in the Morning." Psalms 30:5. I always find strength in God's Word. I look forward to seeing all of you on Friday. Love, Gerald Rouse

Dearest Jacqui x
We are all so very sad that you are no longer here with us. You were such a lovely lady who welcomed us into your family with open arms. Although we lived so far apart from each other, we'd regularly chat on video with you and dad, most of them filled with giggles and laughter. We will miss those moments so very, very much.
Thank you Jacqui for making dad's (Mike) life with you so special, he loves you dearly and always will. Thankyou Jacqui for being the best stepmum, stepgrandma and step great grandma but most of all.... Thankyou Jacqui for being you xx
We will miss and love you always, sleep tight from Mandy, Susan and families

My Darling Jacqui,

My life was so complete, having you by my side. I miss you so very much. You know I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you. And now, I realize, you spent the rest of your life with me.

I know you loved me, until the day you went away, and I will always love you, until we're together again.

I miss you and love you so very much. You are, and always will be, the love of my life.

Until we meet again in Heaven...….

I was so blessed to have been a part of your life the past 19 years. Your warmth and compassion will be missed by all. Thank you so much, for being the best mother in law anyone could ask for.
Much love, Don
