Uncle James and family:
You have gone through, persevered and accomplished many outstanding achievements over your lifetime. From your service to our country, even if our country did not respect you during those periods to the family legacy you have left on the earth. You will remain remembered, highly respected and greatly appreciated for all you invested into the lives of so many friends, colleagues and family. You have fought the good fight, take your knee and your overdue peaceful rest.....old Soldiers simply fade away. Much respect to you. Nephew/Fellow Veteran - Terry D. Clark and Family

I would like to send deepest condolences to the Word family. My thoughts and memories of Mr. James Word are great stories of travel, military accomplishments, and a shared love for good food and family. He was surely a man of strategy and wit that has been passed on through eternity as a seed is to the earth. You will be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in the power of knowing that your family is the greatest part of you.

I remember James on several Thanksgivings, deep frying turkeys for the family. I believe that was one of his favorite times of the year. My father-in-law was a man that stuck to his beliefs no matter the cost. James, may you rest in peace.

I am so very happy that you are at peace, dad, and without pain. I remember your laughter and curiousness – even our challenging conversations. I am so happy that our conversations would end with ‘I love you’. Your infectious laughter will always be etched in my mind. Rest!
