I am stunned and saddened by this news. Jeff and I began the practice of law at about the same time and he was a welcome face around the Fairfax Courthouse. I always enjoyed his company. We rarely spoke of the law, preferring ACC sports and his pride in his NC State Wolfpack. To his mother, children, grandchildren and friends, I offer my heart-felt condolences. He was a true gentleman, even in the toughest of times.

I am so sad to hear of Jeff's death. I have such happy memories of time spent with him. I dated Jeff in his senior year in high school and on into the beginning of his freshman year at NC State. We went to different high schools but we dated every Saturday night for a while. I was his date at his senior prom when I was a sophomore. He was my first kiss. He was the nicest guy and a true gentleman. I felt so special when I was with him. I had not seen or heard from Jeff since @ 1970 (when I moved to Georgia) until he accepted my friend request on facebook. I thought we might reconnect but he rarely posted. When I couldn't get a response after threatening to post our prom pictures, I was afraid there must be a health reason. I so wish we could have been friends all these years. I knew and loved the boy; I missed out on knowing a great man. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and all who loved him.
