Joan Laing Cook

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan Laing Cook, who left us peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 90. Joan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Born on September 23, 1934, Joan lived a life full of love and dedication. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert, and their three children, Andy, Linda, and Allen. Joan was also a cherished grandmother to many grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Joan’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.

A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held on January 19, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories of Joan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Joan’s memory.

Joan will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
