This is the speech I wrote that Megan read aloud for me. 

Joan was the life of the party. And if there was no party she made one. She always made me laugh and feel loved. Not a day goes by that I won't remember her trips to the beach and her laugh. She was my Aunt but always felt more like a Grandmother to me. We will miss her immensely.

Grandma Joan was a wonderful, beautiful, kind hearted women. She was charasmatic. Loved to laugh and had some of the funniest one liner jokes that would make a house erupt with laughter. She had a good sense of humor and she understood my sense of humor. She had style. Always dressed to the max and fully embellished in her jewlery. She loved to cook. Making sure to always feed everyone when we'd come over and all leave with full bellies plus leftovers for the next day. She was one of the most generous people I've ever known. She loved to take care of her family and friends. Loved spending time with us as well.
As far back as I can remember, we spent holidays, vacations, and weekends together. As a family.
From the classic change jar easter egg hunt, to the backyard sports and fireworks shows, and Halloween on Huntleigh dr., Christmas in the "Den" with gifts up to our necks, and of course the original 2nd verse of Happy Birthday. (It has to be original because I've never heard any other family sing it). There was fellowship. Fellowship over a warm, after dinner, cup of coffee. Through this fellowship, values and traditions were formed. The same values and traditions that were passed along to her children. Who then, in turn, passed them along to their children, and will be proudly passed along to our children.
She was the back bone of our family and will always be loved and missed.

It broke our hearts to lose you,but you did not go alone part of us went with you.In our hearts you will always hold a special place.Your love lives on in the lives you touched.

How do you some up a lifetime of love and laughter? Joan was always the sun in a room, everyone  was drawn to her. Thank you for always loving me. I will miss you immensely my Joanie Bell. I send hugs and kisses to you. Love you always.

You were a special woman, Loving and  Caring I have learned a lot from you, you walk in faith so I know death is a gain for you, will miss you so much but are now with your first FATHER

We will always remember the good times we had with Joan, our trips to the beach, her 80th birthday party, neighborhood yard sales and all the other fun times we had over the last 35 years. We will miss her immensely, especially her caring and giving ways and her deep love of family and friends. Our hearts aches for her loss. She will always be in our hearts.

Kathy ~ I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing.  Words are so inadequate at a time like this, but may the comfort of family & friends be your strength now and in the days ahead.  My deepest sympathy.

So Sorry for your loss. May the GOD of all comfort help you and your fanily in this time of  sorrow PSALMS 29:11

It was wonderful to have known you Aunt Joan.  You were always so kind to everyone around you, and meant a lot to Angie, Megan and Gabriel.  We all wish you a peaceful rest.

I remember, holding your hand, as we walked all through the sand. I looked up at you, and saw a smile of laughter and happiness. The same smile, I always saw on your face, for many years to come. You are forever and always in my heart, from one beach buddy, to his other. Love you Joan!

Joan was a very special person lots of fun to be around I will always remember our camping trips to the beach which she loved.
