Joseph Shellabarger

J. Spence Shellabarger passed away peacefully on 03/11/13 at home. He was born on August 16, 1943 in Savannah, Georgia to John Joseph and Marian I. Moeller Shellabarger. On June 10, 1066 in Bloomington, Indiana he married Susan Jackson Shellabarger, who survives. She has been his best friend and love of his life for over 46 years. He started his business career in the apparel business starting on the retail side and then moving to the wholesale side, owning “JS Shellabarger and Associates” and “Logoport Inc.” for the last thirty years. He attended Kentucky Wesleyan College and Indiana University. Having grown up in Indiana he was an avid basketball fan and Indy car fan. He was a member of Wildwood Green golf club in Raleigh for many years. Also surviving are two sons John Joseph Shellabarger, Roanoke, VA, and Douglas Spencer Shellabarger and his wife Jenny Renn Pendry Shellabarger, and his granddaughter Sadie Renn Shellabarger of High Point, NC. Also surviving are his mother Marian Shellabarger, his sister Carole L. Lowe and husband Randy Lowe of Phoenix, AZ, He was preceded in death by his father J. Joseph Shellabarger. A memorial service will be held at Christ Covenant Church at 6501 Fox Road, Raleigh, NC 27616 on Saturday 03/16/13 at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date in Warsaw, IN. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Covenant Church
