Judith Frances Jones, 78, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina after a two year struggle with cancer. She taught us all how to transition with grace, courage, and dignity while facing this terrible disease.
Born on October 27, 1943 in Muskogee, OK, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vera Kleiber
Judy grew up in Milwaukee, WI where she and each of her siblings attended Catholic schools followed by the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
In 1966 she met and married John Jones in Milwaukee. They went on to have two children, Janyne and Daniel.
Judy became a sports fan at an early age -- her love of sports most recently centering on the Green Bay Packers, Duke basketball, NC State basketball and NC State Football.
She was also an avid reader and quilter. She was very excited to be invited to join the Steeplechase Book Club shortly after arriving in Raleigh and has cultivated many wonderful friends while sharing some of the 50+ books that she reads each year. In addition to the book club she is a prolific quilter, a member of the Capital Quilters Guild and a past officer in the NC Quilt Symposium.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years John, her children, and her three siblings: Patricia (Kleiber) and Walter Wells of Paris, France, Joe and Debbie Kleiber of Cranford, NJ and Phil and Cathy Kleiber of Roswell, GA
