Judy was born February 10th, 1946 in Raleigh, NC to the late Rosele and Willie Thomas Bridges. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Laura Bridges and Joyce Tieran and her two brothers, Lonnie Bridges and Billy Bridges.
Judy married the love of her life Allen Reid on July 9th, . You would never see one without the other. There love was an endless love and one to look up to.
Judy was an dedicated hard worker as an Office Manager for Kmart for over 40 years until she was no longer available to work in 2008. She loved everyone she worked with at Kmart and would always tell stories of her times there.
Judy was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Judy loved going to the church and meeting with her Sunday Class. Each lady in that class held a special place in her heart.
Anyone that knew Judy knew she always made sure her hair, nails and outfits were well put together. Even on days she was in pain you would never see her not being her classy self. Thank you, Kim and Wendy for always taking care of her hair and nails you both were very special to her.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. She was the matriarch of her family. Her only concern was her family and that was what kept a smile on her face. As long as they were happy she was happy.
She is survived by her husband Allen Reid. Her two daughters, Angela Kelly and Lisa Alencastro. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Crystal Rodriguez and Allen Kelly (Natalie Bennett) Great grandchildren, Turon Murray, Christina Rodriguez and Olivia Rodriguez. Her sister, Peggy Bass. Judy is also survived by her extended family in New York and all of her friends.
The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1702 E. Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, on Wednesday, May 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, NC 27608 with Pastor Steve Tillis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at their home.
