Julia, the 8th of 9 children was born and raised by dairy farmers in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, NC by parents Lucius Calvin Norman and Cora Stella Livengood. Julia spent her entire life helping other people. She worked at Wake Medical Center for many years beginning her career as a labor and delivery nurse and ending as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner training younger students to become doctors who eventually became her bosses. Mom worked in the pre-natal department at the Women’s prison in Raleigh taking care of the wee children yet to be born. She also traveled multiple times to South America to administer medicine to the less fortunate.
Services will be held at Fairmont United Methodist Church, 2501 Clark Ave., Raleigh on January 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. A light luncheon will follow so those who loved her can meet. We chose a date giving all who wish to attend an opportunity to come.
Mom’s spirit will fill the church that day.
Mom, we love you more than the flowers love the rain…
