Karl Curtis Wright was born on August 23, 1928 of Walter G Wright and Mary Elizabeth Huggins in Hamlet, NC. He was the youngest of six and they all called him "Sue". At the age of 16 he joined the U.S. Maritime Service and went abroad to help Our Country. Once home, he started going to church and got Sanctified in 1951 in Norfolk, VA. Karl grew into a man who was giving with his time and knowledge. Always working hard to provide for his family. He was generous; always having an extra plate ready if someone happened through the back door. He enjoyed learning (even going back to school to earn his GED) hunting, fishing, read incessantly, Beagle breath, tools, boats, and able to fix most everything. Karl could make anything out of nothing, never minding when the nephews or neighbor kids wanted to "help”. He was able to teach himself amazing things from the many, many books he loved to read.
His only son, Karl Curtis Wright, Jr, will meet Karl on Heavens bright shore to wait for his beloved wife, Mickey (Edna L) Alsup Wright, his girls, Susan L Wright and her husband Patrick Moletteri of Chester, NJ, Karen L Wright of Washington, DC and Joyce W Bryant of Raleigh, NC, his grandchildren, Justin and Adrienne Bryant and Casey and Toni Moletteri and his two great grandchildren, James and Brody Bryant.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 29, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on 1701 E. Millbrook Road from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. There will be an additional visitation at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Campground in Perry, GA on Tuesday, January 31st from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, followed by the Funeral service on February 1st - at 2:00 PM.
