Kerre Clark Shipp, 68, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was welcomed into Heaven on February 24, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband, David Shipp, two children who adored her, Lori (Matt) and David (Madison), along with four grandchildren (Essie, Keeley, Samantha, and Monroe).
Kerre was born in Austin, Texas, to Esma Beth Clark and James Eugene Clark. She grew up in the Lone Star State, where she lived a life full of adventure alongside her three siblings (Cheryl Crews, Jimmy Clark, and Jeff Clark) and the occasional wild animal—most notably her beloved pet raccoon, Bandit. When she wasn’t playing the piano or water skiing, she was spending time with her best friends, Vicki and Marilyn.
Kerre attended Baylor University. She later met the love of her life, David Shipp, in Dallas, Texas. They married and built a beautiful life together in Raleigh, North Carolina, filled with laughter, love, dancing in the kitchen, and countless adventures, and most importantly, hugs and kisses. Kerre and Dave truly delighted in one another, sharing a partnership marked by joy and deep affection.
Kerre was an exceptional mother—the kind who showed up for everything, loved fiercely, and put everyone else’s joy above her own. She was creative and kind, and loved her family dearly.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Kerre cherished her role as “Jama” to her four grandchildren, who adored her beyond measure. She eagerly anticipated every visit, every hug, helped with homework and piano lessons, and never missed a moment that mattered.
Kerre leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She taught her family and friends how to bake the best cake on the planet, drive a boat, water ski, reupholster furniture, appreciate nature, and always seek out the next adventure. More importantly, she showed us how to love deeply, stay creative, lead with empathy, and always—always—look for the positive. And she reminded us that it’s never too early in the day to crack open a cold one… of Dr. Pepper, of course.
A celebration of life will be on March 13th, 2026, at 3 pm at Trinity Baptist Church. Greeting of friends begins at 2 pm.
