Kevin was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from Scranton University in Pennsylvania, with a degree in Economics. He went on to become a Lieutenant in the Navy where he flew all over the world as a Flight Navigator with the Navy Hurricane Hunters and a Navy Flight Instructor. After the Navy he then became a Captain in the Airforce Reserve, and joined the corporate world of medical equipment sales.
Kevin was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (Pops), son, brother, uncle and so much to so many. He touched many people in his 68 years and will be greatly missed. Kevin loved his family dearly and enjoyed tinkering, fishing and was always ready for a good joke.
Kevin was preceded in death by his son, Michael Joseph McMahon; father, Bernard McMahon; brother, Robert McMahon; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mario (Sandy) and Rose Santinelli.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Theresa McMahon; daughter and son-in-law; Denise and Jarmaine Higgs; grandchildren, Tonie Higgs and Jarmaine Higgs Jr; mother, Phyllis McMahon; sister, Linda Kaiser, sister, Sharon McMahon: sister and her husband, Cathleen and Christian Rodic; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC. 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh NC 27609 from 12:00-1:00pm on Monday, April 30, 2018, the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service in the church atrium. The burial will be held at the Barrancas National Cemetery on the grounds of the Naval Air Station in Pensacola Florida 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola FL 32508 on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 1pm.
