Kirk spent his early years moving frequently before settling in Raleigh at the age of 16. It was there that he met his future wife, Paula, while working at a hobby store in Crabtree Valley Mall. Paula worked nearby at a bookstore, and they found in each other a lifelong bond. Together, they built a loving family and raised two children, Jessica and David.
Kirk had a natural talent for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. He had a passion for writing and playing games of all kinds. He was an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity for new ideas and stories and that gave a deep understanding of many subjects that he loved to discuss with friends and family. Above all else, Kirk cherished spending time with his family and his many beloved dogs including Ben, Travis, Cleo and Goose.
He is preceded by his parents Pete and Dianne and survived by his wife Paula, his children Jessica and David and his brother Todd Andrews.
Kirk’s insight, creativity, and devotion to those he held dear will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 121 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27603, reception to follow.
