Lana was born December 22, 1947 in Waverly Hall, GA to Ross and Ollie James McLeymore. She was a graduate of North Carolina State University and was retired from NC state government.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John Shaw; daughter, Elizabeth Long and her husband, Scott of Clayton; grandchildren, Autumn and Blaise Long; aunt, Myrtice James of Murphy, NC.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.
