Laryce was born in Raleigh, the daughter of the late Enos Henderson and Dorothy Padgett Wellman. In addition to being a full time mom, Laryce was employed with IBM for twenty plus years, and also enjoyed a career as a Kindergarten teacher. Laryce was a woman with a love for literature, in addition to being an avid reader, she was a two-time published author. Laryce also enjoyed bowling, movies, music, singing at church, and spending time at the beach, especially Topsail Island aka “Grandma’s Lotion”.
In addition to her parents, Laryce was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene James McDonald, Sr., David William Peterson, and Col. William Rybka; and her son Enos Carl McDonald.
Laryce was a collector of people and is survived by her children, Eugene McDonald, Jr. and wife Priscilla, Lillianne McDonald Kepley and husband David, daughter in-law Pam McDonald, Mark Peterson and wife Janet, and Michael Peterson; grandchildren, Josh McDonald, Katie Handy, Mary Susan Alva, Helen Chilton, and Sarah Collins. 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way; special daughter in-law Susan Crutchfield, many cousins, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1702 E. Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, on Sunday, May 6th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville, NC on Monday May 7th at 1:00pm.
