Laura Magdaline Allen Jones

Born in Johnston County to the late Rena Radford Kinsey and James G. Allen, she was predeceased by her husband of 51years, Charlie Ernest Jones, and brothers, James Naion Allen and Leamon Allen.

Surviving are three daughters, Lu Jones McNairy (Sam) of Raleigh, Sue Jones Book (Ed) of Beaufort, and Rena Catherine ‘Cat’ Bass (Steve) of Cary; two granddaughters, Laura Stevens Reynolds (Chad) of Greenville and Kemmerlin Book Jenkinson (Steve) of Beaufort; and four great granddaughters, Molly, Catherine and Lydia Reynolds and Tabitha Jenkinson. Also surviving are sisters, Josephine Davis McLamb (Dalton) of Meadow and Betty Jean Olson (Jerry) of Godwin; and brother Preston Allen (Beulah Mae) of Raleigh.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a Christian church and community servant, and retired from NC DMV.

A memorial service is planned for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Millbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Andrea Dellinger Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 1:30 p.m. until the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Millbrook Baptist Church Memorial Fund at 1519 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
