Laurie Richmond Grubb, 44, passed peacefully and was called to be an angel on Saturday, February 19, 2022. While her time with us was cut short, the lasting impact she made on our lives will never be forgotten and we take comfort in knowing she is being celebrated in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
Laurie was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1977 and raised in Raleigh, NC. She leaves to cherish her memory her immediate family members: husband Michael Grubb and daughter Caitlyn Grubb, her mother and father, Lynda and Jim Richmond, sister, Michelle Richmond and brother, Stephen Richmond and grandmother, Esther Richmond. Laurie’s extended family includes her in-laws, Major Coley Grubb, Bill and Julie Rannells, sisters-in-law Lisa Barnes (Lennie Barnes), Nicole Batt (Mike Batt), Anna Harrelson (Bradley Harrelson), and brother, Quin Rannells along with many loving nieces and other extended family.
While this a profound and unexpected loss, her family finds comfort in their countless loving and joyful memories of Laurie. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She never knew a stranger and was connected to so many across this wonderful community. Her smile, joy, feistiness and laughter are irreplaceable and will be treasured all of our days to come. We find peace in knowing she is in her eternal home with our Lord and Savior.
A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at Southbridge Fellowship, 12621 Strickland Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613 on Friday, February 25th at 2pm and family will receive friends following the service at The Raleigh Elks Lodge at 5538 Lead Mine Road, Raleigh, NC 27612.
