Larry was born in Huntington, West Virginia on February 3, 1937. Following high school graduation, he achieved Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Larry was married to Leone Engel on November 22, 1964. They spent fifty-eight years of marriage together.
He was a member of Mechanical Engineering Professional organizations and maintained his interest in Continuing Education into his retirement years. He was passionate about environmental issues, working on cars, and recycling. Larry was very generous in donating to various charities. He was an active member of Beth Meyer Synagogue where he was a member for over 40 years. He volunteered his time there as well.
Larry is survived by his daughter Marcy Simon (Benjamin) of Athens, GA, and Sheri Erickson of Raleigh; his sisters Marjorie Leventhal (Don) and Carole Wilson; grandchildren Hannah Olis (Paul), Aaron Simon (Lanier), Jacob Erickson, Noah Erickson and many other family members and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Leone Fetter and his parents Goldie and Simon Fetter.
A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, 450 N. State Street, Raleigh, NC 27604 Rabbi Dr. Jenny Solomon of Beth Meyer Synagogue will be officiating.
