Lida Starr Brooks

Betty was born in Atlanta, Georgia, 1928. She graduated from Atlanta Girls High School and attended Georgia State University.

Betty was married to Douglas Brooks in 1950; they were married 70 years.

Betty worked as a Manager for Unisys Corporation for 30 years. She enjoyed painting using watercolors and other media; interior decorating and travel. She was active in leadership in Altrusa International and Lions International, and community organizations.

Betty is survived by two sons, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Brooks.

The celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Altrusa International or Lions International. The family of Lida "Betty" Brooks wishes to thank Brighton Gardens of Raleigh and Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh for their loving care.
