Sunshine, sweetness, big heart, big laugh, full of life, fun to be around, fantastic son, brother, nephew and friend are words that describe Logan Sloane Aronson, born March 28, 1990 in Raleigh, NC. He passed away with his best friend, Blake Tolley, tragically on November 29th after spending the day before with his family to celebrate Thanksgiving; and as usual, he lit up the room with his wit, humor, and good nature and gave thanks for his family and friends (along with a shout out to Cam Newton). Logan knew he was blessed and his family adored and loved him! He was dressed to the nines and enjoyed every bite of food he ate along with watching football with his cousins, taking video for his mom as the candles for the second night of Hanukkah were lit and talking about his plans for the future with his cousin, Brandon. Not only did he take leftovers to eat later, he called his mom to save him one more piece of chocolate chess pie that he declared was not as good as the one she bakes. All who knew and loved Logan understood his love of candy…his obsession of all kinds of candy!
There are no words to describe the sadness and void that Logan leaves; he was the heart of the family and we all revolved around him. He was not only special, he was unique in that he danced to the beat of his own drum and was true to himself and his ideals. Logan graduated from Broughton High School in 2009 and was attending Wake Technical College with the intent to transfer to UNC-CH…he was a “Tarheel born and a Tarheel bred” and a true Carolina fanatic. He was interested in International Business and was known for his quick wit, common sense, street smarts and a huge love of history. He loved to play golf and recently took up playing the bass, was a collector of fish and aquariums, a collector of watches, and a connoisseur of music, especially the bands from the 70’s and earlier. Logan was always up for a good time and great experiences and loved to try new things. In the last few years, he learned to ski, he visited the Grand Canyon with his mother and brother, Holden (where he was in absolute awe), learned to play bass and read Stuart Wood novels. He was also extremely proud to be Jewish.
His Grandparents, Betty and Arnold Aronson and Suzan and Sidney Sutker predeceased Logan. He was named in honor of his Grandmother Suzan Sutker and he, more than any of the other grandchildren, favored her with those magnificent black eyes. Uncles Elliott and David Sutker, and his sweet cousin, Emily Sutker, one of his dearest cousins and friends, also predeceased him.
Logan leaves behind his heartbroken mother and father, Debra Sutker Aronson and Ron Aronson, his brothers, Bryce, Holden and Langdon, and sister, Peyton. There were no people in the world that he loved more than his immediate family and he showed it everyday with his calls, stopping by to visit and calling constantly. He also leaves many loving family members: Aunt Terri Zieve and cousins Jeff, Mitzi and Jack Solomon and Brad Zieve; Uncle Martin and Aunt Beverley and cousins Hannah, and Sophie Sutker; Uncle Alan and Aunt Sherri and cousins Brandon, and Sydney Breslow; Aunt Dale and Uncle Irwin Plisco,; Aunt Edie Peiser; Aunt Barbara and Uncle Stuart Teichman; Uncle Herbert Teichman; Godparents and cousins, Lisa and Michael Sandman; and many close cousins: very special Cousin Elaine Sandman, Ryan and Marshall Sandman, Barry Sandman and Karen Blazeff, Dana, Scott, Zachary, Elyssa, Madeline Gorelick, Andrew, Jenn, Braxton, Tate, Harper Sandman, Lisa Baker, Amy and Chris Koester, Michael and Carrie Plisco, Jaime and Tom Piper, Ross and Janet Miller, Scott and Judy Miller, June Blitz, Theresa Teichman, Merrick Teichman, Alana and Edgar Jerins.
Logan was our “pumpkin”, his lit up our lives and he will be dearly missed!
