Lou was a graduate of North Carolina State University in 1972 with a degree in nuclear engineering. There was no greater Wolfpack fan than Lou. His passion for NC State and Wolfpack sports only came second to his grandchildren, Jack and Anna. He remained in close contact with his Phi Kappa Tau fraternity brothers for nearly 50 years. Together, their dedication to supporting each other as well as Wolfpack football, basketball and baseball was unwavering and an example of true brotherhood.
Lou cherished the relationships he developed throughout his life journey. His friendships at the Kerr and A. E. Finely YMCAs, Wildwood Golf Course, the Italian Club and through church were very special to him.
Lou was also a very faithful man, dedicated to the church and serving God. He lived life as a strong and generous Christian – always giving more than he ever expected to receive back.
Lou’s Italian heritage always remained a large part of his life. His sister, Denise; brother, Ciro; parents, the Queen and Lenny; as well as his extended aunts, uncles and cousins were the true definition of family. He was famous for his meatballs, sauce, baked ziti and lasagna were just a few of the regulars on his famous holiday menus.
Lou is survived by his sister, Denise Rogers; his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Ryan Craig; and two grandchildren, Jack and Anna Ryan.
