Mary Lynne Hartsema passed away on August 27, 2020 at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Mary was born to Lynn and Lillian Wilkinson on October 27, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ron, sister, Ruth Ann Tietsort, son, Doug (Jennifer) Hartsema, daughter, Nancy (Larry) Gittleman, granddaughter, Sarah Taylor Hartsema, grandsons, Sam and Spencer Shores, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judith Hubbell, brother, Daniel Wilkinson-Petyanus, and son, Scott Hartsema.

Mary was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with family then documenting the visits lovingly in the scrapbooks she created after every occasion. Mary was a hair stylist during her career, an avid reader and an excellent chef.

Oh Ron, I hated seeing Mary's name in the N&O this morning. What lovely memories I have of knowing you both during my years at North Ridge. She was such FUN. You both set the bar so high for the way members treated the staff.
