Mary worked as a secretary for Edwards and Broughton and was an active member of the Wake New Hope Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and teaching her grandchildren card games. An avid reader, she also loved to work jigsaw puzzles and cross-stitch in her spare time.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughter, Debbie Thomas Eaker and husband, Rusty, son, Randy Thomas and wife, Becky. In addition, she leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Kellie Eaker, Vaughan Thomas and wife Lauren, and Jessica Thomas, as well as 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Horace Carter “Fuzzy” Thomas, her parents, Benjamin and Mabel Riggan, her sister, Jean Riggan Matthews, and a granddaughter, Dawn Eaker.
There will be a graveside service at 12 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC.
