Miriam Lopez Liggett, 61, passed away August 20, 2011, after a valiant battle with inflammatory breast cancer. Born on May 1, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of Ramon and Maria Lopez. She taught Spanish at Millbrook High School.
She is survived by her children: Marlina Rose Liggett, of Waukegan, IL and William Alexander Liggett III, of Colorado Springs, CO.
Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 2PM at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd, with burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Flowers are appreciated; however, memorial contributions in her memory may be sent to the family for the Miriam Liggett Memorial Fund to be established.
