

Nancy Collins passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, at Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Carolina at the age of 96. She was born on March 5, 1927, in Fort Plain, NY, daughter of the late George Wright Watson and Helene Groffman Watson.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Collins, her son Thomas R. Collins, and her siblings Doris Thayer, Grace O'Brien, Robert Watson, and Suzanne Ehle.
She is survived by her son Timothy R. Collins and his wife Peggy of Durham, NC and her grandchildren Jennifer Collins and husband Matt Waller, Nicole Collins Jenkins and husband Chad Jenkins, Jared Collins, Abbe Collins, Megan Collins Prince and her husband Patrick Prince. Nancy also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Anna Collins-Jenkins, Celia Prince, Stone and Levi Waller, Alexandra and Jack Davenport, as well as one great-great-grandchild, Travis Petro.
Nancy's journey began in Fort Plain, where she graduated as valedictorian from Fort Plain High School in 1945. She was admired for her intellect, sense of humor and dedication to her studies. She married Tom on June 5, 1955 and they resided together in Whitesboro, NY until his death in 2010. She was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with friends and family, entertaining, doll collecting and cooking. She was affectionally known as “NooNoo” to her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609 to celebrate Nancy's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice.
Forever in our hearts, Nancy's spirit will continue to shine brightly through the cherished memories she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
