Nancy native to Blue Island, Illinois was born on October 6, 1953 to Roy Galen Ward and Shirley Mae (Heintz) Ward.
Nancy was a nurse for 30+ years. Helping others brought joy to her life.
Nancy is preceded by her sister Patricia Ward.
Nancy is survived by her "miracle" son, Jonathan Ward, 37; her sisters Cathy Summers and Debbie Ward and her brother Robert Ward.
The family will receive guests from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, NC 27609. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 11401 Leesville Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613. Interment will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27612.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's honor to any animal charity, as she was a big advocate against animal cruelty.
