

Born on September 23, 1931, in Robeson County, he was the cherished son of Jasper LeGrande Sr. and Lela Rozier Edge.
Norris pursued education at Barker Ten Mile High School and later at North Carolina State University. Following his graduation in 1953, he dedicated two years of service to the army. Norris spent 41 remarkable years at Carolina Power and Light Company (Duke Power) where he became Senior Vice President.
A devoted member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, Norris actively served on various committees and shared his wisdom as a dedicated Adult Sunday School teacher for over two decades. His profound love for the Lord was evident in his commitment to studying God's word, a cherished pastime he deeply enjoyed.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 70 years, Etta Sue Edge and his son Ronald Edge. He was adored as "Papa" by Carrie Edge (Hunter), Jonathan Edge (Sara), Erin (Edge) Bates (Kyle), and Linaka D. Norman, along with his six great-grandchildren.
Norris was preceded in death by his daughter, Ronda Sue Edge and son, Terry LeGrand Edge, as well as his parents, Lela Rozier Edge and Jasper Edge Sr., brothers Jasper Jr., Colon and Cecil Edge and sister Nellie Heavenridge.
Funeral services honoring Norris will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marks United Methodist Church, located at 4801 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church in Raleigh or Regan's United Methodist Church in Lumberton, North Carolina, in honor of Norris's memory.
