Paul Raymond Rose

Paul Raymond Rose, 77, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on July 31, 2026.

Born on March 27, 1949, at Watts Hospital in Durham, Paul was a lifelong North Carolinian. Raised in Raleigh, he graduated from Broughton High School in 1967 and spent his life building deep roots in the community he loved.

For more than 57 years, Paul built a remarkable career in the furniture industry, first at his family's furniture store, Caraleigh Furniture Company, and then as an independent manufacturers' sales rep, traveling throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. During his 15 years representing Ashley Furniture, he was honored as Sales Representative of the Year three times. He was also a proud member of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association.

As a lifelong member of Beth Meyer Synagogue, he attended Shabbat morning services for many years. He especially looked forward to the Kiddush lunch afterward—not only for the food, but for the conversations and friendships that meant so much to him.

Paul never met a stranger. His warmth, quick wit, and genuine interest in others made people feel instantly welcome, whether he was calling on customers, visiting with friends after Shabbat services, or meeting someone for the first time. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially family vacations to Myrtle Beach, fishing and crabbing with his brothers, picking the freshest fruit from a roadside fruit stand, and making homemade applesauce to share with others. Always looking for ways to help, Paul was also a dedicated blood donor who took great pride in knowing his donations could save lives.

Above all, Paul was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his four daughters: Jamie Eliahu (Michael), Dara Greenberg (Josh), Hanah Rose (Ryan), and Abigail Rose. Nothing brought him greater joy than his family, especially his four grandsons, Landon and Nolan Eliahu and Liev and Elon Greenberg. He is also survived by his brother, Sandy Rose, sister-in-law Amy Rose, nieces, and many cousins.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Esther Rose; his brother, Marc Rose; and his sister-in-law, Wendy Rose.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will immediately follow at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, 450 North State Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.

Shiva Minyanim will be held Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Jamie and Michael Eliahu.
