Randel Marsh Holland, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 10, 1942, in Johnston County, NC, Randel was the beloved son of the late Lloyd Randolph and Erma Byrd Holland.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia Matias Holland, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Randel is also survived by his daughter Angela Holland Barnes, son-in-law Chris Barnes, grandchildren Coleman Terrell, John Barnes, David Barnes, and his great-grandchildren, Lyncie, Cleo, Olivander, Jace and Baby #5 on-the-way, brother Glenwood Holland and sister-in-law Joanne Holland, wife of deceased brother Donald Lee Holland.
A man of remarkable dedication, Randel was the owner of South Atlantic Steel for an impressive 46 years. His hard work and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did, and he was respected and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Randel was also a long-time member of Raleigh Country Club, where he indulged in his passion for golf. An avid golfer, he found peace and joy on the greens, sharing this love with his amazing and supportive group of friends. He was not always as serious as this sounds. Randel was full of life and made us all laugh... plus, he had “great” hair and there was never one out of place! Randel's memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
A service to honor and celebrate Randel's life will be held on August 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brown Wynne. Family, friends, and all who knew him are invited to attend and pay their respects to a man whose life touched so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Randel's memory, reflecting his generous spirit and compassion for others. Randel Holland will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, kindness,
and integrity will continue to inspire all who were blessed enough to know him. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
