Raymond J. Collins, 67, passed away on March 19, 2014. Raymond enjoyed a long career with IBM, which allowed him to travel internationally, and most recently worked for Verizon Business. Although Raymond moved away from New York where he was born and raised, he loved anything New York, and always felt it was a part of him. He was a big fan of sports, and loved to play tennis, but also loved to play basketball with a group of close friends every Tuesday for the past 20 years. Raymond loved all animals, and enjoyed walking the dog around the neighborhood. His family remembers him as a hard worker and a great provider. He always had a nickname for everyone and loved spending time with his family, especially going on family vacations.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janet Collins; four children, Michael X. Collins, Roman A. Collins, Olivia M. Collins, and Joseph E. Collins; a sister, Diane Collins, of Virginia Beach, VA; and niece and nephew, Heather and Brendon Ryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Collins, and Joseph Collins, the Captain of New York City Motorcycle Division.
