Rick began his life on March 15, 1948, in Wilson, N.C. He attended Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh, N.C. and Barton College formerly Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, N.C.
Rick is survived by his daughter Heather L. Sebahar (Kenneth) of Glen Ellyn, IL., son Graham H. Stallings (Leigh) of Raleigh, N.C., his brother Charles E. Stallings (Jeanne) of Raleigh, N.C., his sister Elizabeth Lindroth (George), and 4 lovely grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Doris Graham Stallings and father Richard Elwood Stallings.
Rick was an “army brat” and moved a lot as a child. He played basketball in High School, with the likes of Pete Maravich (“Pistol Pete”), and college. He loved spending vacations with family at Emerald Isle, N.C. as his “happy place” and enjoyed boating around the ICW. He had a passion for sailing and shared that joy with his family. He always had music playing (in the house, the car, working in the yard, while boating or on the beach) and was even a DJ in his earlier years. He kept a massive collection of vinyl albums and loved sharing bands and concert history with others. He was an avid sports fan and a big fan of the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Bears. His 6’8” stature commanded a room and made it easy to find him in a crowd.
The family asks for your continued prayers as they mourn their loss.
Memorial proceedings will be private.
