I loved Bob Boss, and will miss him greatly. But, the memories we created together over many years continue to bring smiles to my face.  We were like brothers when we were at Commerce Clearing House, traveling the country and the world to sales and marketing events. He called me "Tommie"(only my mother called me that) and I called him "Bobbie". He was a positive force in my life, and I will miss his bragging about the "Carolina Sky". A poem comes to mind that he was always quoting to his sales force, called "The Man in The Glass". The theme of this poem is when the world makes you king for a day, look in the mirror and see what that man has to say. In most of his sales meetings, he would remind those working for him that, at the end of the day, it was the man in the glass whose verdict counts the most. The final verse: "You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years, and get pats on the back as you pass. But your final reward will be heartache and tears, if you've cheated the man in the glass. Bob Boss never cheated the Man in the Glass. His life was productive, compassionate, and memorable. Love to Marky and family.

Steven, we are very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. He was such a nice man. Keeping you, your mom, Clay, Melinda and the rest of the family in our prayers.

Dear Margaret and Boss family-

I was so sad to hear the news about Mr. Boss but assured he is in a much better place now eating and drinking whatever it is he wants! I am blessed to have known such a sweet, remarkable man who thanked me so dearly for just bringing him a news and observer while at Universal. He will be missed greatly. It was a pleasure to be able to get to know him. My condolences to you all! May God be with you.

Dear Boss family, 
I was shocked today to hear about a man that I had a lot of respect for. He was my third DSM for the Potomac Division. He loved his company and the people that worked with him . He also loved his family and Raleigh, NC.  He was a mentor and a friend and my respect for him and his family will never diminish!!
May God always look after him and his family. I am sorry for everyone's loss.

Mr Boss always was quick with a joke and loved to share a laugh. 
 He lived a full life. A man with passion, compassion and a love for his family was obvious. 
I am sure he is up in Heaven lacing up his shoes to go for another Marathon. He'd say, "Don't cry for me. I will see you at the finish line"
