Robert "Bob" William Quinn

Robert William Quinn of Raleigh NC passed away January 24, 2026 at the age of 95. Bob was born on January 2, 1931, in Washington DC to the late Minnie Dye and George William Quinn.

Bob attended Wake Forest University during the 50’s on a baseball scholarship when WFU was located in the town of Wake Forest.

On May 20, 1955, he married the former Peggy Wilson of Raleigh who preceded him in death on July 12, 2004. He was a faithful worshipper at North Raleigh Chapel for more than 50 years.

Bob’s entire career was spent in the food industry, first with Colonial Stores, then with Associated Food Brokers. Always an athlete, Bob played basketball, baseball & golf in high school & college. Upon his retirement he played golf every morning at Cheviot Hills until the golf course closed in 2006.

Bob is survived by his three daughters and their families: Shannon and Steve Braswell of Raleigh, Robin and Jeff Dickens of Washington NC, Ann and Alan Hudson of Greenville. He has 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, January 30th at 1:00 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Rd Raleigh with visitation following the Service and burial at the Raleigh Memorial Park after visitation.
