

Bob F. Rudolph, 86, passed away on July 12, 2026, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Born on March 1, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky, Bob was the son of Frank Rudolph and Dorothy Hume. He graduated from Dupont Manual High School and attended College of DuPage before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force on the President's Line. Following his military service, Bob built a successful career as a computer programmer with IBM, where he worked from December 1965 until his retirement in July 1992.
In 1982, Bob married the love of his life, Sue Rudolph. Together they shared a beautiful marriage built on faith, friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion until Sue's passing on December 8, 2023. Their love remained one of the defining blessings of his life.
Bob was a man of steadfast routines and quiet faith. A devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1980, he faithfully attended worship and was an active Sunday School member. He found joy on the golf course as a longtime member of Wildwood Country Club, where he enjoyed both the game and the friendships it fostered.
Bob also had an extraordinary love for dogs. Over his lifetime he cared for over twelve beloved companions who brought him endless joy. His faithful dogs, Sully and Midnight, survive him and remained treasured members of his family.
Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Rudolph.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Lisa Rudolph-Zgolli (Rostom) and Vonda Jo "Jo" Rudolph; his grandchildren, Stephanie Claudio (Nick), Josh Garrels (Brianna); his stepchildren Jen Tolbert (Terry), and Norm Chambers (Ivon) Norm; Jen’s children, Mary Madison McHugh (Toby), Jake McHugh (Lisa), Morgan Powers Stevens (Scott), and Norm’s children, Sophie Chambers, Alex Chamber, and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 10:30am at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC. Funeral Services will begin at 12:30pm followed by interment with military honors at Brier Creek Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
Bob will be remembered for his faithful heart, his quiet strength, his unwavering loyalty, and the consistency with which he loved God, his family, his friends, and the simple joys of everyday life. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, integrity, and steadfast example.
