Roy Howard Colston

He is survived by his sons; Scott Colston and wife, Susie and Mark Colston and wife, Jeannie, sisters; Margaret Logan and husband, Robert and Brenda Fortson and husband, Ralph, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Daniel, Benjamin, and David, great-grandson, Joshua and his "Raleigh family".

Roy graduated from Georgia State University in 1966.He had a long and extensive career in the insurance business. He was employed with Occidental Life Insurance from 1969-2002. In his free time he enjoyed any project that would qualify him as a "handy man or jack of all trades". Carpentry was an amazing talent he had and enjoyed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11:00 am, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 7600 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh. Burial will immediately follow at the Old Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery on Durant Rd., Raleigh.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 27 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. The family request donations be made in his memory to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church or Transitions Hospice.
