Oh the childhood stories mom would tell of 2 toddlers getting into mischief! I especially like the one when the two of them had everyone in a frantic search of their neighborhood. Mom and Ruth had fallen asleep in a vacant house. Estelle had put a handkerchief over Ruth’s face to keep her warm!

I always enjoyed visits to Aunt Ruth’s house to play Barbies with Bonnie in Charlotte. Then later I visited as a preteen in Raleigh and we went to a fashion show! I felt so grown up! Many good times and lots of love shared in her home. Love to all, Cindy

Ayyy Aunt Ruth. Time goes so quickly. I still remember coming to your house with my laundry when I first moved to Raleigh. You were so gracious and so funny. And always had food and some sort of sweet for a hungry boy. You had just gotten HBO and we would watch it in the basement. It was amazing to be able to see movies like that without going to the movie theater. Thank you and Uncle Rut for being so kind to a broke college kid. I will miss you but always remember you with gratitude. Ernie Rushing
