

Stanley B. Lichenstein, 92, of Raleigh, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016. He was born July 5, 1923 in Suffern, NY to the late David Lichenstein and Mary Lichenstein Cox. He resided in Raleigh, NC for almost 40 years. He was a communicant of St. Raphael the Archangel Church in Raleigh. He was married to his wife, who he adored for 65 years, Evelyn Hayes Lichenstein, who preceded him in death in October 2012. He was most proud of his wife, family, grandchildren, his successful business endeavors, his days on the golf course as a member of North Ridge Country Club, and his service in the Navy on the USS Euryale during World War II.
Surviving are: his sister, Maryann Catanese; two sons, Stan B. Lichenstein Jr. and wife, Karen, of Dayton, OH and Bob Hayes and wife, Eva, of Raleigh; three daughters, Avis Myers and husband, Mel, of Akron, OH, Etch Blessing and husband, Jim, of Raleigh, and Susie Podratsky and husband, Allen, of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Lance, Ali, Lauren, Michelle, Michael, Daniel and Anna; and six great grandchildren, Lawson, Lake, Charlie, Calvin, Zoey and Forest. He was preceded in death by his son, John D. Lichenstein, who passed away in 1997.
The family would like to express a special thank you to all of the wonderful caregivers who took care of their Papa: Beatrice Omolodun, Tobi Agboke, Joe Adekemi and Lylianne Uwimpundu.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 5801 Falls of the Neuse Road, Raleigh.
