Susie Holmes Kaleel

Susie H. Kaleel, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Hillside Nursing Home following a period of declining health. She was born August 24, 1927 in Louisburg, NC to Percy and Susie Holmes.

Sue was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Sue is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles J. Kaleel; 8 brothers; 3 sisters; and son-in-law, Carl Dunn.

Sue is survived by her son, Charles T. Kaleel and wife Brenda; daughters, Norma K. Dunn, Linda K. McIver and husband Richard, Marian K. McLaurin and husband Steve; grandchildren, Chuck Kaleel and wife Jennifer, Angie Dunn, Christy Dunn Dison and husband Lee, Charles McIver, Margaret McIver, Meredith McLaurin and Lindsey McLaurin; great grandchildren, Carlee and Hunter Dison; sisters, Alice Berry and husband Reuben and Betsy Greene and husband David and numerous other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E.Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Raleigh Memorial Park.
