

Suzanne G. Keever passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2012. Born to the late Arlie and Flossie Elliott, Suzanne spent her childhood playing and working in the cotton fields of Trenton, Tennessee. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios, she then moved to Raleigh. During her early years in Raleigh she was the owner and proprietor of several taverns including The Red Rooster in the 60’s, The Bantam Rooster in the 70’s, the Office Tavern (now Lilly’s Pizza) and Suzanne’s Lounge in the 70’s and 80’s.
Surviving are: three sons Michael Gibson and wife Donna, David Keever and Daniel Keever; two daughters, Sheila Moore and husband Glynn, Susan Borgesi and husband Robert; siblings, Earlene Sprout, Zula Smith, Bettye Berger and Jerry Elliott. She enjoyed nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mozelle Brannon and Brother Jimmy Elliott.
The family will receive friends 12 – 1 PM Saturday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Rd. Raleigh, where funeral services will follow at 1 PM. Reverend Bruce Taylor will officiate.
To our beloved Suzanne, may you peacefully find your new home to be all that you would want in an eternal resting place, may God carry you on your journey from here forth, and watch over you until we meet again on the other side of paradise. You are no longer in pain, forever now in peace.
