Thomas Frederick (Fred) Bobbitt Sr. was greeted with open arms by his Lord and Savior on March 25, 2013. Born August 2, 1930 in Warren County, NC the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Nathaniel Bobbitt formerly of Vaughan, NC.
Fred served in the United States Air Force, Eglin Air Force Base Fort Walton Beach, FL, during the Korean Conflict. After his tour in the Air Force he went to work with Sears and Roebuck and later as a salesman for Clark Art Shop in Raleigh, NC. Fred spent over thirty years with Clark Art Shop before retiring.
Fred was a very humble man and enjoyed interests such as Fishing, Gardening, cooking Brunswick stew and watching a good baseball game.
Fred is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Murphy (husband David), son Tommy Bobbitt (wife Pam), three grandchildren Daniel Martin (wife Erika), Sarah Bobbitt (fiancé Ryan Deese), Tommy Bobbitt and one step grandchild David Murphy Jr. and one great grandchild Emma Martin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 5:00-6:00 pm at Beacon Baptist Church, 2110 Trawick Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. The funeral service will follow. The burial will be Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00 am in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Littleton, NC.
