Thomas served his country in Army during the Korean War and earned the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. He was also an active member of the VFW for many years.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Alice P. Johnson, 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
His family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, from 6:00-8:00 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 16, at 3:30 at the funeral home.
