Bud was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 28th, 1942. He graduated from East McKeesport High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Jefferson College.
Bud was married to Elaine Zamosky, the love of his life. They were inseparable for over 50 years until Elaine passed away in 2014.
Bud was a project manager for a division of Westinghouse that later became Northrup Grumman. He was an accomplished athlete in his youth. He made all state as a pulling guard on his high-school football team and later played at the college level. He enjoyed reading, puzzles, models, and toy trains. Most of all, he enjoyed helping people. He and Elaine were a force of nature in this regard.
Bud is survived by his son Dave Wheeler (Jacinta Kaplan), his daughter Celeste Huffstutler (Mick), his grandchildren Gabby and Miles Huffstutler, his sisters Judy Kennell (Paul) and Freda Dempster (Alex), and many nieces and nephews.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Eileen Wheeler, his sister Leslie Freeman, and his beloved wife Elaine.
There will be a private family celebration of life on December 8th.
