Dear Joanne and Family, I don't know where to begin.  You probably don't remember Bob Heinrich and his wife Gail  but we celebrated your marriage to Vinnie at Anton's in Queens Village on that blessed day.  You were a beautiful bride.  Vinnie and I attended NYCCC graduating in 1967, entering the armed forces and going our separate ways.  We only kept casual contact for a few years thereafter, and you and Vinnie visited my mom and dad in QV when I was out of state or country due to my own job.  They are gone now too.  I only learned of Vinnie's  passing few minutes ago in Googling him and wanting to chat after all these years.  I'm shocked to learn of the passing of my old friend and your beloved husband. It was with shock and sadness that we learned of Vinnie's sickness and passing. His loyal friendship through the years meant much more than even he knew. Vinny will be sadly missed but remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Everyone in book production knew Vinnie. He was a friend to all and a mentor to  junior colleagues over the decades of his career.  He saw the publishing world change and was able to change along with it.  Rest in Peace.
