Violet Marie Killian Youngblood

Violet was born in Cabarrus County on April 16, 1931 to Lloyd and Grace Killian. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and continued her education earning a Registered Psychiatric Nurse certification. Violet was a Nurse Supervisor at the Veterans Hospital in Salisbury when she met and married Robert E. Youngblood on July 25, 1953. Violet became a stay at home mom with the birth of her first son and enjoyed entertaining friends, family, and anyone in need of a cup of coffee.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Youngblood. She is survived by her sons, Robert E. Youngblood, Jr. and wife, Lee of Raleigh, Michael Todd Youngblood and wife, Sandra of Wilmington, and David Lee Youngblood and wife, Michelle of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Mary Y. Starbird and husband Christian, Danny L. Youngblood and wife Olivia, Michael “Todd” Youngblood, Jr., Mary Melissa Y. Gage and husband Ben, Jennifer Youngblood and fiancé Ryan Glass, and Courtney M. Youngblood; great-grandchildren, Amy and Issac Starbird, Isaiah Youngblood; and a sister, Mildred (Micki) K. Gardner of Albemarle.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Forest Cemetery, Wake Forest, NC on Wednesday, September 6th at 11am.
